Urgent Call to Reveal Fate of Taher Mohammed Abdulkader
SHRC

The Syrian Human Rights Committee (SHRC) has learnt from a closely related source that the military intelligence in Aleppo arrested the citizen Taher Mohammed Abdulkader from his home on 23/2/2009. He has disappeared since, and nobody knows of his news or the place and state of his detainment.

The brother of the detainee, who currently resides in Sweden, has reported that all means of communication with his brother Taher have been terminated since his arrest, and the reason for his oppressive arrest in unknown.

The citizen Taher Mohammed Abdulkader was born in Aleppo in 1966 (43 years), and is a resident of the Al-Ashrafiya neighbourhood.

SHRC considers the arrest of Taher Mohammed Abdulkader as arbitrary and repressive, and calls upon the Syrian authorities to immediately reveal his fate and release him. SHRC also asserts that if he has violated the law then he should be presented to a normal court in which he can enjoy his freedom and right to defence.
